What do you think of Ebony?

I think it's kind of nice and nature related on one hand, but on the other hand it's rhythm reminds me of trendy 80s/90s names such as Brittany and Tiffany. Still, I like it. Opinions?

I immediately think of the song "Ebony and Ivory". I do like it--and Ivory, for that matter--but there's too much connotation behind the name.

I pretty much have the same mixed feelings as you, though the negative feeling is more on how this is becoming the new “trendy name for black parents”. Same with Ivory.

I think it's a beautiful name. In the US, it's very much a black name; anyone else using it, especially a white person, would get the side-eye. I understand it's different in UK and Australia.
It was very popular in the seventies and eighties but went out of fashion very quickly and you never see on kids anymore.
