So I have fallen for Aleksi, Aleksey, however i do not know what is the best spelling?
Is it too russian sounding, stereotypical or is just boring because it is just Alex in a different form?
I like Alex for a boy too,
Is there any other names i might like that similiar to Aleksi, or not, I am just asking, Just making a list of fave names, because i have not done it since last year, I keep a name journal, It dates back to 2005, Does anyone else keep a name journal of names they liked and why they like the name?
I like the Name Alexsi because it seems romantic ,and I knew an Alex that was cool, so that might of tainted it to my liking,
So what do you think? Can you talk me out of Aleksi?
Maybe too much Like the female name Alexa? the electronic device, ?

How do you pronounce them? I am Russian and I pronounce Aleksey as [ah-leek-SEHY] and Aleksi as [a-LEH-ksi].

I much prefer the look of Alexei. Alex(ander) or Alexis would be more expected on someone who isn't of Russian decent.

I think Alexei is the most intuitive transcription. Naturally, it's "Russian sounding", because it's a Russian name. Alexsi looks invented and very incoherent.

I have Aleksy on my list, because I specifically like the a-LEHK-see pronunciation, and apparently that spelling is the way to it. Most would probably think it sounds Russian, but I think it’s familiar enough that it’s fine. I don’t think it’s too tied to Alexa. I like it because it’s sweet and boyish sounding. I also very much love Nikolai, which is similar, but probably even more Russian, if that makes sense.

Aleksy is pronounced with an "i" sound, like in it, bit, or hit.

I prefer the spelling "Alexei" which I find to be the most intuitive.

I like this name but it is one of my least favorite Russian names. I love how it looks but dislike the sound. The diminutive "Alyosha" is adorable.

I did not think of Alexa at all. I don't think that would be a problem.

I thought of Amari, Giovanni, Gianni, Avi, Anani, Andrei, Nikolai, Valery, Anton, Vasili, Roman, Rodion, Raphael, Casimir, Agustin, Alfonso, Alistair, Valentin, Cyril, Natan, Leo, Antoine, and Oscar.

Do you like Alexander? You could use Alexei and Alex as diminutives.

I much prefer Aleksi, as Aleksey looks a bit too kre8tyv in my eyes. Plus, Aleksi is nice and doesn’t really have any major associations.
