I think it's handsome.It's nice with Gabriel.
I'd maybe put it with Isaac, Jerome, Salvador, or Solomon.

I love it! René is in my top 5 for a boy. Yes, in English speaking countries, Renée for females is more common, but even English speaking people have heard of a French or Hispanic René, so that shouldn't be a big deal! It stands out more as a FN, but I enjoy it in the middle spot as well.My favorite combo would be Rene Gabriel. That's truly international. Angelo Rene sounds VERY Hispanic. I prefer Rene Truman this way around, it flows better.

I've never really thought about Rene or related names as masculine, perhaps because the first (and only notable) person I've known who it belonged to was a woman, however hers was spelled Renée. The more I consider it though, it is kind of nice. The only thing is that for me, seeing it without the accent on the second syllable kind of throws off the pronunciation; it's just not as intuitive so I feel more doubtful about what the proper way to say it is. I think it could do very well as a middle name since it goes so well with many things.

I like it spelt René and pronounced ru-NEH.

I knew a male Rene once. He was the second son; the first was named after their father!

It’s a male name in my country (Renée would be very strange and outlandish sounding here) so it’s not weird at all on a male in my ears. In Denmark, if someone mentions a René, you’d assume it’s someone male. As of 2020, there are 121 women in Denmark called Renée. In comparison, there are 9500 male René’s here.Weirdly, though, I think I prefer it as Renée. On females. But I do like the name combos you mentioned a lot.

I only like it, if it's an acceptable name in the area eg french speaking

I like René, too, though it might be a bit too French to use on an English-speaking child. René Anthony, René August, and Gabriel René are nice combos.
