No I just don't like it at all. It was the name of my best friend in high school. I didn't like it then and don't like it now. I just don't like how it sounds. I have no better reason than that, and don't think I need one.
My mother wasn't what you'd call a name-nerd and didn't talk about names much, but there are three girls' names I recall her saying she hated. One was Jessica. I don't recall how that one came up. The other two were Alison and Erica, and I know that those came up because they were the names of two of my teenage friends. She said she hated them, so guess I was never in danger of being an Alison. Which is fine by me.
