Desiree is a cool name - before it's pretty (or even beautiful), or sophisticated, or any other positive adjective, Desiree is a cool name. I can't imagine a Desiree who isn't "with it," whatever "it" may be in time and space.
There was an older sister of one of my friends in primary school whose name was Desiree, and she went by "Dezi." I think she solidified the "cool" impression for me.
