both have been on my mind a lot lately. Which one would you choose and why?
I pronounce Luana as loo-AH-na, Juliana with four syllables.
Giuliana is another spelling, do you prefer it?
Which images do you get from both names? How do you imagine a Juliana, Giuliana, Luana and her parents?

I prefer Juliana by far. I prefer it over the spelling Giuliana, too. Juliana makes me think of a quiet, mousy, really smart woman, because that's how the only Juliana I know is. She pronounces it Julie-Anna, which is how I prefer.
Luana, well, it's better than Luanne, but I still picture some hillbilly in curlers hollerin at her kids.
