"Shandi, I swan to John!"
That's all I can think of when I hear that name, lol. (It's from a YouTube video, and I doubt very many people would have that same association, but that's all I can hear.)

My only association with Shandi is my favorite contestant from Season 2 of America's Next Top Model, which I watched religiously in middle and high school. That was my reality show. Anyway, Shandi was one of my favorite contestants from that season and I'd really wanted her to win, but she finished 3rd place and I don't think she continued modeling much after the show (shame, she had talent - runway and in photos).
I think she mentioned on the show that her parents named her after a song by KISS, but I've never heard the song.

Insubstantial and alcoholic. If it weren't for the booze I'd probably think it was cute though. I like Mandy.
What is this booze of which people are speaking? I've never heard of it.
A shandy is beer, I think usually lager, and lemonade or a different kind of juice. Leinenkugels makes a good one.
My personal favorite was 3 years ago they had a limited edition cranberry ginger one at Christmas.

Oh so that's why nothing came up when I Googled "Shandi" ending in an I.
Although I know that you're an American and know what shandy is, I don't see the association being a problem in the US. I don't think the majority of Americans have heard of it.

I feel like I've seen it before, but I didn't connect it with alcohol immediately, and I couldn't have told you what the drink was if I had.
It is entirely possible. My family drinks a LOT of beer and goes in for variety.
It might be regional - it’s pretty classic in Rhode Island/Maine/Massachusetts I’ve found.
Quite Beach Blanket Bimbo.
sorry no, dont like it at all
Beer and lemonade...
We played a gig once with a band called Shandy and their title song was Shandy and the chorus was something like Beer and Lemonade makes Shandy..
Terrible song.. terrible name..

I would either assume it was Iranian/Indian or that they were talking about beer with lemonade.
I did read it as Shadi at first glance.

I've actually known a Shandie. She's probably in her early fifties by now. The name sounds very seventies, like Misty and Tennille.
Yum, I love beer and lemonade mixed together.
I like it more than Candi or Sandi or Brandi. Maybe because it sounds more like a surname than those. And it's way better than Randi.
It's about as likable to me as Mandi or Sherri.
I feel I should like Andi more than Shandi, but I'm not sure I do. Andi is boring.
