[Opinions] Re: Jonah for a Girl
I think it's completely masculine and it's as silly as naming a boy Tiffany.masculine list: https://www.behindthename.com/pnl/191050/124079

Idk, I think a comparison would be like naming a boy Teagan or Tatum or Madison, since they're more commonly feminine but have a masculine sound/pattern. Jonah still ends with an "A" so people could theoretically be like "yeah, most feminine names end with an 'A' with exceptions"

Perceived gender of names that originate as surnames is typically more flexible, so imo Jonah isn't like Teagan, Tatum, Madison in that way. But, as far as I know, the word "dove" (Yonah) is actually feminine in Hebrew?
So assuming that's right, it might've made more sense as a girls' name than a boys' name all along. And while I do automatically read Tiffany as feminine,I feel like historically it could easily have been a unisex nickname: it's short for Theophania which has masculine counterparts, and it's a surname. Plus, it's sound and recent usage reminds me of Whitney.
