[Opinions] Velma
What are your opinions? It's been growing on me. I see Velma and I see sassy, but I'm afraid others will see "grumpy old lady!" Be brutally honest please!

I didnt think of Scooby Doo until they mentioned, but now I do.
Apart from that, all i can think of is 'old lady' and 'mothballs.' To me, Velma is deffinatly a mothball name...sorry. It would deffinatly grow on me if I knew a kid with the name though. I thought the same thing about Evelyn until I met an Evelyn last week, who was a cheeky little 10 year old monkey. So if you love it, then go with it.(I still think mothballs! Lol.)

Does Jinkies ring a bell? I hate it when names you think of for you children or something else gets ruined by those kind of thingshttp://www.GlitterMaker.com/ - Glitter Graph
Sorry, but I have to agree with the people that said they think of Scooby Doo! I really can't see past it!

I seem to be the only one who likes it so far! I agree, I see it as a sassy, quirky-in-a-good-way name. Vesta also falls into that cathegory, WDYT?
Budgerigars, ceiling fans, the Times of India are all part of the luggage I brought into the world... Blue Jesus leaked into me; and Mary's desperation, and Joseph's revolutionary wildness, and the flightiness of Alice Pereira... all these made me, too.

Yes, I'd agree that Vesta falls into that quirky-in-a-good-way category. I tend to think most "V" names do!
Vera is much nicer.
I'm sorry, but I absolutely abhor this name. It sounds so harsh and ugly and...yuck. It makes me shudder. I also think of grumpy old ladies and Scooby Doo.
To me it sounds more like some kind of spreadable condiment. Don't ask why; it just does. For me it's connotation has wandered away from "human name" to becoming "product name"... for no particular reason.
The abolition of religion as the illusory happiness of the people is the demand for their real happiness.
To call on them to give up their illusions about their condition is to call on them to give up a condition that requires illusions.

hmmmm... lol. Maybe because of Hellman's mayonnaise? Helma-Velma??
Lol, I don't know!
That's as good a guess as any. :-)

I just think of Scooby Doo, unfortunately
