Help[Opinions] Madelyn
Wdyto the name Madelyn (pron. Mad-uh-lynn) it's my name, just want to see what ppl think of it. You could also put your name in the subject line so maybe we could give opinions as well on your name.

I like Madelyn. I personally prefer Madeline, but Madelyn is very nice too. It sounds a bit more modern, in a way.
(P.S. Cloe isn’t my real name, but it’s pretty close to it and I don’t really wanna reveal my actual name. I have a short Greek name, and Cloe is also a short Greek name, so it’s close enough.)

Araceli's not actually my name, but I got to pretend it was during high school Spanish (and I used Latin American Spanish pronunciation).
My actual names have been discussed to death on BtN already.
I don't like Madelyn, but I don't hate it. I guess it suffers (or benefits, depending how you look at it) from association with Madison and all the trendy *lyn names.

I don't like it much, regardless of spelling. Madeline pronounced mad-uh-line is very pretty in my opinion, but I dislike the "lin" ending.

I think Maria is a good, classic name. I have many good associations with it too.

I like it! I like Madeline too, but they're definitely distinct, separate names to me. Madelyn sounds softer than Madeline to me. Not in a shy/weak way, but in a solid, reserved way, it that makes sense. It's less peppy, but more dignified, maybe? It's hard to quantify that initial reaction to a name! It flows nicely with itself - I like how it starts with an emphasized syllable and gradually lessens the emphasis as the name goes on, it's very musical. It's a good name and I like it.

Zhara Adelina is my name.
Madelyn is nice, but common in my opinion. Also, I, unlike most, dislike the nickname Maddie (sorry!). Though it is more common on preschoolers/kindergartners where I live. In one class I've subbed at, there was a Madelyn, a Madalin, and a Maddie! I think I like Adelyn more.
In regards to my own name, I always disliked how unpopular it was. (Zhara still only stands as a submitted name here, which is saying a lot!) My brother's name was uncommon, but a bit more common where I live than my name, and people *usually* knew how to pronounce it. No one ever knows how to pronounce my name at first glance. (BTW, it is pronounced just like Zara, in my case)
