[Opinions] Re: Annabell or Annabel?
Annabell looks wrong; partly because, etymologically and historically, it is wrong. Annabel was originally a misreading of Amabel, which in Latin never had or could have a double L.Annabella is pretty well established, and can easily be considered a merger of Anna and Bella, based on Isabella. It is not to my taste. I find it frilly and over-elaborate.I would be unlikely to use Annabel, since I've already used Anne as a mn for my daughter. But I would never use Annabell.
