I much prefer Louise to Louisa, which seems needlessly complicated and/or tarted up. Louisa is mostly given to Afrikaans-speaking girls in South Africa - I've never met an English one - but they tend to go by Louise.

I can readily imagine it on people of all ages. I like it well enough, but I like Eloise so much more that I'd never consider using Louise.
