[Opinions] Stella?
What do you think of the name Stella? What names does it go with and what would a Stella look like?

I've always loved the name, I had a childhood friend named Stella who grew up in Seattle but then left for a while to live in Amsterdam and New York City. She moved back to Seattle for high school but to help her career in her 20's she ended up moving back to New York City. My friend always had a big personality and her personality actually got bigger with age as she's now a semi-famous fashion model and clothes designer. She goes by Stella Rose Saint Clair and she is always the first thing that comes to mind for me when I hear the name. The name Stella always makes me think of a girl with blonde or strawberry blonde hair and blue eyes and a big personality partially because of my friend but also because the name means star.
My 6th grade flour-baby was named Stella and I drew her with strawberry blonde hair and blue eyes. Stella and Luna were my favorite names at the time, in hindsight I wish that I had twin flour sack babies so Stella could have had a sister named Luna with dark brown hair then they could have been like Snow-White and Rose-Red which was one of my favorite fairly tales. I did write a story later that year about two sisters named Stella and Luna who were princesses of the sky kingdom. I have loved the name Luna long before the Harry Potter character Luna Lovegood who is probably part of the reason the name has become popular in recent years. I'm not certain why the name Stella has become popular but a lot of my long time favorite names have gone from being uncommon to very popular in recent years.

While I used to dislike Stella, it's definitely grown on me. It sounds youthful and sassy and I love the ella ending. The meaning is fantastic too. Some middle names:
Stella Eleanor
Stella Elisabeth
Stella Elizabeth
Stella Élodie
Stella Emmeline
Stella Felicity
Stella Leonie
Stella Lillian
Stella Magdalene
Stella Penelope
Stella Rosalie
Stella Rosalind
I imagine a Stella would be short, with a cheeky smile, high cheekbones, and dark hair. Probably the kind of person to call people "darling".

I wouldn't use it but I think it's a perfectly lovely name to have
I like

Stella is lovely. I think of a 1920s flapper with a cute bob of rolled in curls and a saucy smile as she flouts conventions.
Stella Irene
Stella Marie
Stella Jeanine
Stella Margaret
Stella Rose

A Stella could look like just about anybody.
I think it's a very pretty name, though I think Estelle is prettier.

I love the name Stella, it feels very pretty to me, and not boring or too simple. I named one of my cats Stella (the other is Mia, they are sisters)
