I think Fox is utterly ridiculous as a name for a real person, it works ok for a character though (like Fox Mulder).
Briar I quite like for a boy, it looks and sounds very masculine (dispite Briar-Rose being an alias for a disney princess). I also like the spellings: Brier, Bryer & Bryar for boys.
