i think Thalassa would be much harder for others to pronounce than Thalia, at least in the US. People tend to draw a blank at any longer, very different looking names, regardless of how intuitive the pronunciation should be.
a foreign word as a name isn't weird nowadays, especially if it has history as a name. it may also hold more meaning for you if you have any connection to Greek, or even just the sea in general.
HOWEVER i like Thalia better, it rolls of the tongue and is the name of a muse.
