Lorenzo is a young playwright born and raised in the city of Toledo - his most recent play, a light comedy, was last year performed at the royal court, meaning that for the first time he has a semi-reliable income stream. He and Francisca have known each other since they were children, and for many years she has helped him in his writing, providing ideas and opinions as well as advertising for him where possible.
