Homeland: The Rebublic of Venice
DH: Battista Vidal, 20, appearance: straight dark brown hair, pale blue eyes, works as a coppersmith
DW: Aurelia [Donà], 23, appearance: curly light brown hair, black eyes, works as a physician
Year 1: Battista (20) & Aurelia (23)
Explorers have returned, regaling citizens with stories of their travels in the far east. Aurelia learns about diseases and treatments she had never heard of and Battista is interested in their smithing techniques.
Year 2: Battista (21) & Aurelia (24)
Aurelia's father, also a physician, is accused of malpractice. As a result some of Aurelia's patients question her and her training.
Year 3: Battista (22) & Aurelia (25)
Battista's uncle became Pope, a decision that makes Aurelia wonder what the other choices were like. People flock to Battista's smithy wanting to be in good terms with the Pope's relatives.
Year 4: Battista (23) & Aurelia (26)
Aurelia's younger sister get pneumonia and claims that the Virgin Mary visited her while she was asleep to tell her that Venice will be underwater in a few centuries.
Year 5: Battista (24) & Aurelia (27), Basilia the horse (6)
Battista is gifted a horse by a rich customer. People are starting to whisper that Aurelia can't have children and she names the horse after their neighbour Basilia who started the rumors.
Year 6: Battista (25) & Aurelia (28), Cosmo (nb), Basilia the horse (7)
Aurelia gives birth to a son, Cosmo. He has Battista's straight dark brown hair and pale blue eyes. They hold him close to neighbour-Basilia's berdoom window when he cries during the night.
Year 7: Battista (26) & Aurelia (29), Cosmo (1), Valeria (nb), Basilia the horse (8)
A year after having Cosmo they welcome a daughter, Valeria. She has straight red hair and her grandmother's violet eyes. Neighbour-Basilia questions her paternity.

An argument over inheritance occurs between Battista's father and his two aunts. Uncle Pope intervenes threatening excommunication. He takes the inheritance, a centuries-old untranslated bible, for himself claiming that such artifacts should belong to the church. No one dares to argue with him.

Aurelia gives birth to their second daughter, Caterina. She has wavy dark brown hair and pale blue eyes.

Battista decides to change trades and become an armorer.
Valeria enjoys learning about animals and spending time with them. She is bitten by a mouse and might not become Doge after all.

There is fear of war with the Ottomans. Battista is glad he became an armorer.

The sewage in the waterways stinks and has caused sickness. Battista & Caterina fall ill and eventually recover.
While being ill Caterina discovers her love of troublemaking and also her inability to make any trouble while bedridden, so she just plays dead every time someone enters her room.

Cosmo falls of a tree and breaks his leg. His friends stop playing hockey while he recovers and they eventually forget the rules and find other sports to play.

A revolutionary group is gaining popularity in the area. The Vidals don't care.
