[Opinions] Harold and Horatio
What do you think of the two (not necessarily as siblings, though I do like both of them well enough to use)? Does the nickname Ray work for you on Horatio? What middle names might you pair with them?
Here're the ones I've been thinking about lately:
Horatio Kolbe (for St. Maximilian Kolbe; KOW-beh is about how I was told to pronunce it)
Horatio Christian
Horatio Michael (Rather boring, but a family name)
Horatio Terrence
Horatio Riley
Harold Ray
Harold Ignatius
Harold Zacchaeus
I need help with combos most of all. Thanks!

You might even provide a Heaven for them. We need You for that. Hell we can make for ourselves.

I definitely think Ray could work as a nn for Horatio. As for my opinion on each name -- both are "cool" in a retro-chic way, though I don't particularly love one or the other enough to use. However, if I saw a baby or child with this name one of these days, I'd jump for joy. :)
Horatio Kolbe - On first glance, Kolbe looks like a kre8tiv spelling of Colby or a twist on Kobe Bryant's name. With the background and pronunciation (with the explanation), it's not bad. But the pron. makes me think of "cowbell". :-/
Horatio Christian - Nice. A more unusual fn with a more common mn balances it out a bit, too.
Horatio Michael (Rather boring, but a family name) - Along the same lines of Christian, but Michael might be too boring/common to go with Horatio, imo. That and I can't stand the name, lol. But since it's a family name, I think it can pass.
Horatio Terrence - Not a huge fan of Terrence, but it could work.
Horatio Riley - Seems mismatched. Even though I know this is a family name for you, can't help but see "trendy" at first glance. But even without the trendy angle, an Irish name just seems odd paired with such a "Spanish" sounding name. :b
Harold Ray - Definitely could work
Harold Ignatius - Like this a lot
Harold Zacchaeus - Have a hard time getting past the "Zaccheus was a wee little man...." Not bad, though, as long as he's not really short, lol.
ETA: Horatio isn't even a Spanish name. :-/ I guess it seems so because of Horatio Sanz on SNL. :b

I'm not sure about Harold (dislike Harry, the inevitable NN, mostly), but I love Horatio. Ray could work as a NN, but Horatio is a great name on its own, too!
I like:
Horatio Terence
Horatio Michael
Horatio Christian
Harold Ignatius
I wouldn't use Ray as a MN for Harold if you use it as NN for Horatio, if they were siblings. If not, then it's OK. I actually really like Harold Ignatius, but I think Horatio needs something more traditional than Kolbe or Riley because it is such a frilly boy's name. (Not necessarily frilly as in girly, frilly as in bells and whistles that boys names don't usually get, KWIM?

No offense taken. : )
"Old men smoking cigarettes down at the pub" describes my taste in boy names pretty well, lol! I'll have to remember that one.
I rather like Harold Theodore, and I think I would like Horatio Inglebert if it didn't bring to mind Englebert Humperdinck, lol. :/ Thanks!
