Help[Opinions] Gabrielle
Hi, what are your opinions on the name Gabrielle? Personally, I know multiple Gabbys/Gabrielle's in my grade level (so around 2002 to 2004 DOB ish). Due to this popularity with teens where I live I would almost like to use a less common name for a character I am writing set to originate/live near my area. She would go by the nickname Rielle. Any opinions or alternative ideas?

I don't personally enjoy the name, but I think it's a fine choice for a character.

Since Gabrielle has been fairly common, as you mentioned, I like Rielle a lot, especially now since Brielle climbed up the charts so fast.
I think Rielle is a great character name idea.
Something less common but slowly - steadily rising in Aubrielle. I like it a lot, but I like it spelled Aubriel. Aubrielle nn Rielle would be interesting too.

Renée / Renee / Renae nn Ren
Ramona nn Remi
Dominique nn niki or mikki
Monique nn mikki
Davina
Desiree nn Desi / Dezi
Therese nn reese since the letters for Reese or already within her formal name, that’s how she chose to spell her nn

I LOVE it! It's a classic and beautiful names that I wouldn't mind considering, though ONLY as a middle. I feel it would be less prone to recieve the nn of 'Gabby' which I don't really care for and the fact that a cousin of mine has a daughter named 'Gabriella' who yes, goes by 'Gabby' Constantly.
I'd honestly would applaud any Gabrielle/Gabriella's who actually DON'T go by Gabby for once. Rielle is lovely.
