Lennert and Agnesia were relieved and overjoyed when an offer was made for Diethelm to be betrothed to the eight-year-old Principessa Benetta Orelia of Venice. Though Venice is a small province and the royal family are not rich, Diethelm is considered an outcast and it will boost his status somewhat to have a rich wife. The same process will be enacted as with Albrecht's fiancée, Vilhelmina. Diethelm himself is also very excited, as he has been reliably informed by his favourite little brother, Cornelius, who has played with the Principessa on previous state visits, that she is great fun.

Diethelm may be his father's least favourite, but he is a very clever child, and when he began to believe that his mother may have had an affair with Guntram's father, he immediately confronted his mother about it. She, shocked and vulnerable, revealed that this was the case, but believed that he, Sophia and Cornelius must be Lennert's children. Diethelm forgave his mother, acquiesced to her pleads not to tell Sophia and Cornelius, and has shown a greater attachment to the surprised but pleased Guntram ever since.

There was much rejoicing in Prussia this year as the royal family were blessed with two new additions - the adorable little Rudolf, Agnesia's new baby, and Albrecht's fiancée Vilhelmina, who has come to live in Prussia for the next two years before marrying Albrecht and receiving her new identity. She and Albrecht are still somewhat awkward around one another, for Vilhelmina is a quiet and studious girl and Albrecht is the most confident and masculine of his siblings. Sadly, Vilhelmina's esteemed father died this year, and it has been hard for her to adapt to so much change. Luckily, Lennert has quickly and successfully established good relations with his heir, due to the link of Albrecht and Vilhelmina.

There was cause for great joy this year - Albrecht has finally married! His bride has taken on her new German name, and Lennert and Agnesia hope she will bear Albrecht strong children. To mark their new intimacy, Albrecht has begun to nickname her Minna. Sophia was promised in marriage too this year, and will shortly be leaving for Portugal, where she is betrothed to the Infante Abílio Renato Xavier Marciano, one year her senior. Lennert and Agnesia are very pleased she has made such a good match, as she is approaching adulthood and they did not want to marry such a charming and pretty daughter off to a member of the Prussian nobility. The maid responsible for her wig will be undertaking the journey to Portugal with her.

Diethelm may be his father's least favourite, but he is a very clever child, and when he began to believe that his mother may have had an affair with Guntram's father, he immediately confronted his mother about it. She, shocked and vulnerable, revealed that this was the case, but believed that he, Sophia and Cornelius must be Lennert's children. Diethelm forgave his mother, acquiesced to her pleads not to tell Sophia and Cornelius, and has shown a greater attachment to the surprised but pleased Guntram ever since.

There was much rejoicing in Prussia this year as the royal family were blessed with two new additions - the adorable little Rudolf, Agnesia's new baby, and Albrecht's fiancée Vilhelmina, who has come to live in Prussia for the next two years before marrying Albrecht and receiving her new identity. She and Albrecht are still somewhat awkward around one another, for Vilhelmina is a quiet and studious girl and Albrecht is the most confident and masculine of his siblings. Sadly, Vilhelmina's esteemed father died this year, and it has been hard for her to adapt to so much change. It was sad for the family to say goodbye to Sophia, but they are confident that her match is good. There was also a brief visit from Benetta's family this year, and she and Diethelm appeared to get along well - she is much more mischievous and he more reserved, but they are both bright and curious young things. Diethelm and Benetta are happy to be spending more time together and will of course be married in two years. She is still a close friend to Cornelius! However, Lennert has taken quite ill, which is of great concern to the family. He has been confiding in Guntram, to whom he confesses his guilt for the animosity between himself and his wife, and his poor treatment of Diethelm and Cornelius. Guntram urges him to apologize and mend things with his family before it is too late, but his royal pride is too great. Little Ferdinand, too, has caught the illness, but seems more sturdy than his grandfather.
