[Opinions] Veronica
I had a classmate named Veronica who was nice, and I would consider this name in the future. WDYT?
What nickname, if any, would you use? I like that there are options just in case she grows up not liking her full name. Like Ron/nie or Nick/i. Even Vera isn't too much of a stretch.
Finally, what middle name would you use? My last name only has one syllable, so I think I would be limited to two syllables max. Anything more and the flow of the name comes to an abrupt halt once you hit the last name. I sort of like Jane, but then again, that's always been a favorite of mine. Any suggestions?

I love this name! It was actually at one time my #1 for girls, but it's still in my top 40. My preferred nickname is Nikki (this spelling - Nicki makes me think of Nicki Minaj *scrunches face in disgust*).
I've come to really admire Veronica in the last several years. I'd use the nn Nicki and was actually surprised when I looked up the meaning of Veronica. It's etymologically related to Nike > Nicole so Nicki works for me. I've seen Nica used as well yet I only like it when the i has a long e sound. Otherwise, Nica with the short i sound doesn't sound as pleasant to me.
Vera is just all right, however, Roni doesn't appeal to me at all.
MNS:
Veronica Jane
Veronica Joy
Veronica Juliet
Veronica Laurel
Veronica Louise
Veronica Madeleine
Veronica Marielle
Veronica Sophie
I've never tried to pair Veronica with a mn before. It's not easy. I think I prefer Juliet, Laurel, and Sophie.

Are you psychic? Because I also have considered Ruby, Helen, and Amy. Usually as first names and not with Veronica, but still - they're favorites.
Amy Veronica is nice though. And where I'm from calling people by their middle name isn't uncommon.

I encountered Veronica only when I lived in Arizona, and there only among Hispanics/Latinos. It was a fairly popular name. For this reason I have this association. Also in my experience Veronica has been used only among Catholics because she is a saint.
I love the sound of Veronica.
Eta, Sorry, this is in the wrong place. Should be a response to the main post.

Veronica is a nice name. I wouldn't reject it as a name for a daughter.
Where I live, the form is Veronique, and the usual nick-name is Vero.

I like that form, but unfortunately, I can foresee people mispronouncing it where I'm from.
Veronica's pretty attractive. I know a Veronica whose nn is Rocky; she got it after she was in a bad accident as a child, because she was tough and pulled through it and also she and her mother both like the Rocky movies.
Vonnie might work, or Vicki.
Veronica Elaine?
Veronica Lynn?
Veronica Michelle?
Veronica Jean?

I knew a girl whose nickname was Cricket, and to this day I have no idea where that came from. XD
My grandmother's middle name is Elaine, so that's definitely in the running.
Vonnie is an interesting idea! Thank you.
