It seems energetic/warm/bright, I generally like symbolic nature names, and it was my grandmother's MN.
I think I would have liked being named it, even though it seems kind of loud or showy...like Esmeralda and Magnolia would, to me.
I'd hesitate to use the Turkish version. I read it like ah-sel-ya, which I like, but I'd guess it's said more like ehj-al-ya, which mainly seems weird/unrecognizable in English.
