Wilfredo is a common Hispanic name, a lot of them go by Wilfred in English, so I think of a Hispanic guy in his late 20s. Not a bad association. I would view Winfred as a very old man from Minnesota or England. I like Wilfred, wouldn't use it. Winfred sounds too similar to Winifred.
