[Opinions] Jeffrey / Geoffrey
Do you like this name? Which spelling do you prefer?Does anyone prefer Jefferson? I do myself, because I like Jeff but find Jeffrey or Geoffrey whiny and bratty-sounding.

Jefferson is an unnecessary surname. I prefer Geoffrey, but I just think of a non-descript guy born in the 1960s.

It's annoying to me, kind of the same way Steven is annoying to me. I think my dislike of it comes entirely from overuse in the 20th century. The sound and meaning by themselves seem pleasant enough to me, and I have an uncle Jeff who I like.Geoffrey looks way better than Jeffrey to me, so then in reality, it seems like a let down because they sound exactly the same. Jefferson isn't an improvement imo. It just seems like a preppier Jeffrey.

LOL. Steven annoys me as well as Jeffrey. So do Michael and David, but in that I'm in a small minority here on BtN, if not a minority of one.

I hate Michael, but I like David.

Meh...it's alright. An overused, typical name but still decent enough. A name I can tollerate but don't think is especially superb.
My preferred spelling is Jeffrey. It's the one I mainly grew up with and the one I'm most firmiliar with. I tend to like names whose visual aspect matches its sound even if that spelling happens to be the original.
I don't like Jefferson. Too pretentious for my taste. Though I do prefer 'Jeff' above the others.

I don’t like either. They do seem whiny and sort of just, boring and blah.I do like Jefferson. I could be somewhat biased, as it’s my nephews name. But I think it’s a good bit handsomer and stronger sounding.I actually like a lot of -son names. Popular or not, I enjoy Jackson, Mason, Carson, etc.

Not a fan but Jeffrey and the spelling Jeffery is also annoying, I can picture the two getting confused a lot. Geoffrey makes me want to say Goff-ree and that sounds ugly to my ears. Jefferson sounds pretentious to me as well, sorry.

I prefer Geoffrey. I enjoy how it looks. I love how uncommon this spelling variant is, especially in the USA.
I always have loved the meaning, Man of peace.
I also happen to have a good association with a Jeffrey. I grew up with a boy in my class named Jeffrey. He lived next door to me in grammar school. I loved him and his family.
He passed away in a car accident. He was very sweet. I’d totally consider using Geoffrey as a middle name.

Geoff because it's more common here. If I was in the US I'd go for the J.

It was my dad's name, but I don't really like the name. I don't like Jefferson either or the nickname Jeff. It's just very meh to me. If I had to choose a spelling I'd go with Jeffrey. My dad spelled his name Jeffery.

Hi !!!Geoffrey is my favourite form.It is literarian (Monmouth and Chaucer), Medieval and mature. I like its sound!
