Anastasia is definitely my favorite of these, and one of the most usable outside of Greece. In fact, I often forget it's a Greek name - I usually think of it as Russian, with the nickname Anya.I also like Nefeli (Nephele), Eleni, Evanthia, Kalliopi (Calliope), and Chloe. The last one is currently one of the most popular baby girls' names in the Western world - and I think Eleni and Evanthia are also quite usable / familiar outside of Greece.

I like Eleni the best, I think Evanthia, Anastasia, Charis, Chloe, Melina and Nefali are all usable outside of Greece. Paraskevi too, maybe.Nike is probably the one I like the least, even though its a cool name because it's too tied to the shoes now.

My favorite is Anastasia and my least favorite is probably Nike, because the athletic brand is so big now that it would seem as if you were naming a child after a company, rather than the goddess of victory. The ones I think are 100% usable outside of Greece are:
Melina
Anastasia
ChloeThe ones that are usable with some inevitable pronunciation issues are:
Eleni
Charis
and maybe EvanthiaI know a Charis who is constantly having to correct people on the pronunciation of her name (everyone wants to pronounce the Ch :/), otherwise I would say it's 100% usable. I think the same sort of issue would come up with Eleni re: the middle syllable.

Hi Perrine !!!Let's see!Paraskevi: too elaborated. The name Praskoviya is more immediate. I also prefer Piroska with this sound.

Eleni*: safe, good for abroad. I have It in my list but I think it is quite boring.Avgi: simple but seems also quite incomplete. Nefeli* lovely name and simple form compared with the Ancient one. I'd love to see it out of Greece.Kyriaki: unfortunately its sound looks similar to Teriyaki. Kyrie is better. Pelagia* another good candidate for abroad. I have it in my list. It is quite known and then It has a geographical reference and an evocative meaning. Melina I think of it as Italian name (dated). I suggest you Melia.Areti: too similar to Aretha for my taste.Evanthia: it has a heavy, too complicated sound.

Kalomoira* first time that I see it. It is beautiful! Read in Italian (and suppose similar in Greek) it's very melodious and refined. Moira is known and some Cal/Kal names are famous too. I suggest you to use it in Italian, Spanish and Portuguese-speaking countries but not elsewhere.

Anastasia* very International right now.Kalliopi* Perfect International too. Thanks to the K and the final i is immediately Greek but also it has a long tradition with other forms to make it simple to keep in mind.Charis* Mythological but can often be confused with Carys if you are in an English-speaking country.Nike* I hate Nike brend exactly because it made this name nearly unusable. What a pity.Chloe* safe and International right now.
...Safe names: Chloe, Kalliopi, Anastasia, Pelagia, Eleni.More original and risk to not be understand
Nike, Charis, Kalomoira, Nefeli. The right compromise are Pelagia and Nefeli to be used out of Greece!

I like/love Nefeli, Charis, Pelagia, Areti, Evanthia, & Kalliopi. Evanthia would probably be top, since Evanthe’s one of my favourites. I’m interested in Areti especially. I think Eleni, Nefeli, Pelagia, Melina, Evanthia, Anastasia, Kalliopi, Charis, Chloe, and perhaps Areti would translate well (or already have) at least where I live (UK). Nike I think is too tied to the brand (definitely for a first), Paraskevi, Kalomoira and Kyriaki may just be a bit much in terms of pronunciation. Avgi I can imagine working, because I had a friend in school with a similar name who didn’t have any major issues (mostly whether the G was soft or hard).
