Well, a little Googling seems to show this is probably from one of the Sotho languages, and if you put "kereeditse" into a couple of online Sesotho-English dictionaries the English translation you get is "cry out." This should be considered a very tentative explanation until it is confirmed by experts from South Africa, though.
