Backstory: Niccolo d'Artusio was born to a lineage of great hunters, as his father and grandfather before him were known wide and far to be very skilled. As a child and teen Niccolo mastered his skills and honed them. As a young adult he found that his career wasn't making him as happy as he thought it would. He decided to try out a new profession and found baking was his true love.
Benedicta Zusto was the daughter of a village's baker, he was a great baker and expected to pass his business down to his son. He never had any sons only 10 daughters, Benedicta being oldest was handed the responsibility of finding a husband to continue the business. Benedicta didn't like this at all and wanted to run the business on her own but he father said a woman could never do a man's job. Benedicta decided to find a husband who would let her be the sole provider and run the bakery.
As Niccolo looked for a bakery to work at he met Benedicta even though she was only 15 at the time and Niccolo was 26 he felt entranced by her. Benedicta became attracted to Niccolo and the two hit it off. Benedicta introduced Niccolo to her father and her father was ecstatic. Niccolo was happy to learn Benedicta's father owned a bakery he could work at. Niccolo and Benedicta started courting and got married when Benedicta turned 16.
Sadly, Benedicta's father passed away at the age of 60 and left the bakery to Niccolo and Benedicta. The couple decided to run it together to live out both of their dreams. The d'Artusio story starts shortly after the couple re-opened the bakery together.
Year 1: Public Bulletin

Niccolo and Benedicta were surprised to see that their bakery was being slandered on the public bulletin. The statement said, "Do not support the d'Artusio Bakery! A woman is attempting to run it with her husband in tow." The couple was disgusted and removed the statement before anty attention was drawn to it.
Year 2: Venice is Excommunicated

Location: The Republic Venice
The public of the small village where the d'Artusio's live wasn't too pleased to hear that the Pope excommunicated Venice. Niccolo and Benedicta weren't too religious but still cared that the Pope would do so and were outraged.
Year 3: Niccolo Wins an Archery Contest!

There was a local archery contest that (of course) only men could enter and Benedicta urged Niccolo to participate as he was a great archer and hunter. Niccolo participated and won a month's worth of bread for the small family which Benedicta loved.
Year 4: Secret Society Invite

Niccolo received an invite to join a secret society, he told Benedicta and the couple decided it would be better if they declined. They had no idea who sent the invite but were surprised that one existed.
Year 5: Quirina & Lazaro Are Born

Niccolo and Benedicta felt as they were settled down enough and financially fine, they decided to start their family. The couple were surprised when instead of a single baby they had twins. The twins were born identical a girl and boy, Quirina and Lazaro d'Artusio.
