[Opinions] A good nickname for Pretoria?
This name has grown on me but it sounds very serious so I'd like to use a nickname most of the time.
I don't like 'Pretty' or 'Tori', I was thinking 'Toya' which is my mom's nickname, but another option would be nice.

Prae (pronounced as 'pray'), because it's easy and yet sounds tough.
It also nicely reflects the etymological origin of Pretoria, which is ultimately Latin praetor meaning "leader".

Ooh Tora is a nice, strong NN since it means tiger in Japanese

Ria could work.
For the city, the only nns in use, and I think they no longer are, were Petoorsburg and Snor City, neither of which would do but both of which definitely colour my thinking.
Petoors - puhTOOersburCH is just a sloppy pronunciation of Pretorius plus -burg = city.
Snor is Afrikaans for Moustache, from the days before democratisation when the Civil Service (Pretoria is the administrative capital) was staffed at senior levels almost entirely by white Afrikaans men with bristly whiskers!
