Year 1 - Tyra Is Adopted

Jerica & Melanie were out walking one night & happened to run into a stray, it wasn't uncommon but this dog kept following them. As the couple approached home they decided to feed & water her considering she was so skinny. Melanie fell in love with the dog & so did Jerica. They decided to adopt her & name her Tyra, she fit right in the family.

After adopting Tyra & moving into a bigger home Jerica & Melanie decided they wanted to have some children, they decided to adopt. Tori & Xavier where the pair of siblings they adopted locally from Puerto Rico. Tori immediately loved her new mothers while Xavier was still fussy. He eventually came around & started liking them.

Tyra fell down with a serious illness early in the year & it looked like she wasn't going to make it but she pulled through the Ashby-Patterson family was glad to see their dog was still healthy & well.

Jerica's younger brother Denzel was getting into a lot of trouble with the law & his parents. Jerica & her parents decided it would be best if Denzel moved in with her & Melanie. Denzel didn't want to leave but he eventually came around.
Year 7 - Denzel & Jerica Get Into A Fight
Denzel's behavior kept on getting worse, he & Jerica got into a bad fight. Jerica immediately regretted taking Denzel in, she couldn't do much though.

Jerica & Melanie weren't looking to expand their family anymore but when Melanie's close friend passed away & nobody was their to take care of her daughter Melanie & Jerica decided it would be a good idea to adopt her. Monett was used to Melanie & Jerica & was very happy to be adopted by someone she knew.

As Tori was driving back home from a party she had a little too much too drink she got pulled over. Tori refused to get out of the car or cooperate with the police officer & was detained. She fought back & was booked on a DUI & assault of a police officer. Tori was sentenced to 5 years in prison. Jerica & Melanie were shocked & horrified their daughter would do anything like this.

After 22 years of marriage Jerica & Melanie decided to call it quits, the death of their beloved daughter & dog caused a lot of strain on the family, adopting a new child was quite stressful & they decided it would be better for both themselves & the kids if they divorced. They decided on split custody would be best for them. Melanie got to keep Sage Velvet.
