Year 18: Gavin gets pulled over and arrested when he attempts to drive home after a night of heavy drinking. Amber is kind enough to bail him out, and she’s keeping a close eye on his drinking habits from now on.

Year 19: In a desperate bid to have at least one more boy, Gavin and Amber turn to adoption. Their dream comes true when they’re matched with a nine-year-old boy from the Ukraine named Leonid Pasternak. Leo, as they call him, has been in a broken home for most of his life, and upon meeting his adoptive family, he is extremely grateful and thrilled to not be living in his hellhole anymore. Spencer, too, is enjoying the fact that he’s no longer the only son in the family, along with the friendship he’s developed with Leo.
