How would you pronounce Agnessa?BtN says 'ug-NYES-sə', someone in the comments says 'on-YAY-za', and I'm more inclined to say 'AG-NES-ə'...Also, what do you think about it? Do you prefer it to Agnes, or not?

I'd pronounce it as you do.
It's pretty, for sure. Prettier than Agnes. But I almost think it's a cop-out, or dumbing -down of Agnes.
On the other hand, if I was forced to choose to name a daughter one or the other, for her sake, I'd likely use Agnessa.

i say ag-NES-uh. Agnes with an a. it looks...kind of smashed together? in my opinion. i prefer Agneza, which actually used to be in my top 10.

And yes I prefer it to Agnes. It’s a bit more elaborate and has a more expressive beauty.

In Russian it’s êg-NyES-ê, with ê being a Schwa sound (similar to ‘uh’). In English I think ag-NESS-ah (like Agnes+a) is a reasonable pronunciation.
