RoxStar suggested the name 'Sabrina Melanie' in the thread below, and it made me remember how much I like Melanie. It's a little dated here, but it was never crazy popular. What would you pair with Melanie?My ideas:Melanie Rachel

I loved the name but Melanie Martinez has kinda of ruined it for me. I don't care for it anymore.

I know a second grader named Melanie. I felt it was dated, but they were honoring a Melvin. I also know a Melony (awful, I know). Anyway, the little girl is Melanie Virginia, but names are honoring.

It's okay, though does seem a bit dated. It sounds very soft to me but not weak. There's something kind of bucolic about it. I think it makes a nice MN, though it's difficult for me to pair, and I prefer Melinoe.Maybe Melanie Gaia... Rhiannon Melanie, Rowena Melanie...

Melanie was top 100 here from the 1960s to the 1980s, peaking in the 70s. (There were a surprising amount of them born in the 1950s, too, which was when it started taking off). It never made the top twenty, but it was popular enough in its time to have that trendy-dated feel to me, and I don't really have any strong associations with it, outside of the Spice Girls: not my thing. On the other hand it's not a bad name as such, has interesting history - and sounds a lot nicer than Melania.Melanie Zoya

It's dated to the 80s here too and it has a bit of a tacky image here as well. I don't have a problem with it but I don't really like it either. I really dislike the nicknames Mel and Mellie. I imagine someone with dark hair who likes sports.Melanie Rachel works well but is very 80s. I wouldn't pair it with dated names such as Rachel, Laura, Jasmine, Irene because it makes the combo extra dated.Melanie Isla
