With their two eldest daughters getting engaged, Katherine and Anselm decided to leave the family expansion to their children. Their love still burns brighter than either expected and they occasionally show it to each other in the most intimate ways, as husbands and wives ought. Katherine is the most loyal of wives and could do no harm to Anselm. Rosamund had barely reached fifteen when the young king of the Netherlands asked for her hand. Though the couple has yet to marry, their engagement has spanned the past three years. Rosamund prefers it this way as the thought of leaving home and marrying a total stranger terrifies her. She would much rather stay at home and help her mother with her younger siblings. Ada, however, just got engaged to the young Prince Finngall from Ireland. The two met by happenstance and fell head over heels for each other. If Ada had had her way, the young couple would have eloped, but Finngall insisted that getting their families' approval would work out better for them. Ada can't wait until her parents give the okay for their wedding. Unfortunately, little Elysande fell sickly over the winter one year. Her fever burned hotter than anything Katherine had ever seen. Within a few days of falling ill, Elysande passed away. Alice has once again dropped a title and taken up a new one. Once Queen, then Baroness, now Viscountess, Alice's lovely Baron Tristian died in a hunting accident a little over four years ago. Once again, Alice, still yearning for a child of her own, wasted no time in her search for a new husband. While travelling one day to visit Katherine, she met Viscount Korbinian and the two wedded not a month later. King Simon's marriage to Eulalia failed. After giving birth to Princess Joan, Eulalia stopped talking to her husband altogether. Simon wanted to make their marriage work, if only for the political benefits it provided (thouh he would admit later to his closest advisors that he had started to feel things for Eulalia as well). When Eulalia left, Simon accepted the marriage proposal of the queen of Italy's advisors. Within weeks, Amaia moved into the family home to stay. As much as he wished his relationship with Eulalia would work, Simon felt grateful that it ended the minute he met Amaia. She was gorgeous and spritely and young and spirited. And the connection to her country made more sense. The couple has yet to welcome an heir into the family. Two years ago, Astell and Maria had their first son, Bruno. The little boy is the very definition of the phrase bundle of joy. He bounces as he walks and he babbles nonstop. Maria couldn't love the boy more.
