[Opinions] Re: Opinions of Phoebe? (+ another question)
I appreciate it for its history and beautiful meaning. It also looks really nice. But I can see why it never really caught on in the US despite being featured on an extremely popular show (Friends). It just seems to weak and cutesy. Not the name itself, it has some weight due to its history, but the way it sounds. FEE-bee. I think in Britain it's common because they have a different style and many other names that are similarly cutesy sounding such as Evie and Alfie are very common there too. So I kind of disagree, I find the spoken sound of it not that likable but I love the way it looks. My favorite is definitely Phoebe. Second would be Phebe which was used by Shakespeare. Febe isn't pronounced like Phebe or Phoebe in Spanish/Italian so it feels weird to me to use it for the English pronunciation.Phoebe, regardless of the background.By the way, I have seen Phoebie. Not that I like it, but it exists :P
