Oddly, enough I just saw a post on tumblr where someone was talking about a very eccentric Hera that they knew and they thought the name influenced the personality.I like the sounds somewhat and a I like the association a lot (well, Greek mythology, but maybe not the goddess herself). But, tbh, if I were gonna go for that sound and Greek mythology, I would jut go for Hero.

I’m usually quite lenient with mythology names, but I remember really disliking Hera. I really like the sound (as here-uh). She’d probably be on the guilty pleasure list for me.

It's a new love of mine! I prefer it to Juno because it's more ancient: http://www.palaeolexicon.com/Word/Show/16725

i can't think of it past the goddess, who others have said is not a good association. i love Anthea, though, which was another name for her. there's a character i love named Anthy, and her name was chosen because she's in part a deconstruction of the goddess Hera. i think that's clever. and i usually roll my eyes at Greek myth names for characters. also i know a chihuahua named Hera, and it suits her perfectly.

I love a mythological connection, but the goddess herself wasn’t particularly admirable for me, and “Hairy Hera” is a pretty easy reach for bullies.

A possible alternate name would be SaturniaI like this too - as we discussed last week. As one among other Goddess Names that can easily move toward boys. Such a twist might serve as a movement of Neo-Classicism. Classicism / ClassAs an increasing number women become the major household providers, and more men increasingly become stay at home dependents, will men strive to keep the interests of his provider - upon whom he is dependent - and wear the rings of Saturn to maintain her fidelity? Will she become the husband; he, her wife? Will unmarried men who seek the attention of women (to support them?) bedeck themselves in Saturn's rings?

I went through an Ancient Greek phase growing up and I really disliked Hera. I though it was super unfair that instead of taking her anger out on her husband, she would do horrible things to these poor girls that were seduced/raped by a GOD, as if it was their fault. And I thought it was super hypocritical she was the goddess of marriage. Like a marriage is where a wife stews jealously, puts up with her husbands shitty behaviour and kills his mistresses?Anyway.. As a name I quite like it.. Coincidentally, i just read a tumblr post about a woman named Hera. I think it's cool.

We had to have seen the same tumblr post. The one where she walked her dog with a peacock feather attached to his leash?

I love that you still like it - especially after what you wrote in the first paragraph.
