I like Meredith - in fact, it's one of the few names I like that end in "th" (other than Elizabeth / Elspeth). I also prefer it as a feminine name, despite it's historical masculine use, mainly because of the first syllable. (I don't like Marion on a guy, either.) I've never actually met anyone named Meredith, so I don't really have any "associations," per se.
Right now, Meredith is a solid middle name for me. I have the combo Lydia Meredith in my Top 10. I've also had Ursula Meredith on there before.
