[Opinions] Re: Jude for a girl

I tend to like more lengthy formalized first (or middle) names to facilitate as many natural diminutives as (practically)possible.
This way Judith, Judah, or Judas - of either gender - can use whichever form s/he prefers. I am aware that Jodie is commonly used for males - though uncertain of whichever spelling conventions suggest whichever gender; still I cannot fathom that using one vowel, or set thereof, in lieu of another should specify gender, though I recognize that it somehow, sadly, does.
VARIANTS: Hudes (Yiddish), Judit, Jutta (German), Judit (Spanish)
DIMINUTIVES: Jodi, Jodie, Jody, Jude, Judi, Judie, Judy, Jodene (English), Yutke (Yiddish)
