I love both, but prefer Jonah. No real reason why...I just like it better.
I think both names are strong, yet approachable and they would age well. I much prefer Jonah to Jonas, as I like the sound of Jonah better and love the Biblical story.
I prefer the sound of Jonas, and I have multiple associations with the name so it feels more complex.
Jonah reminds me of the Biblical figure who was swallowed by a whale. He always came across as whiny, so I get that connotation with the name.

I like the meaning of them both, but not the sound. There’s nothing really wrong with either, though, they’re just NMS. For my favorite, I’ll go with Jonas because it sounds “older” and I have an uncle with this name.
I love both of them, but for different reasons. I have a slight preference for Jonah just because I prefer the sound. It's softer and almost lyrical. I like Jonas because I could use it to honour my great grandfather, but I only like it if the "j" is pronounced like a "y". Otherwise, it reminds me of the Jonas Brothers, and I dislike them.
I like Jonas, like in The Giver
I prefer Jonas since it's the name of a cousin of mine. It's an OK name, but very common here. Jonah, wasn't he the guy swallowed by a whale? Not a name I would choose.
I adore the name Jonas; it's at the top of my list. I see it as being a stronger, more complete sounding name. This may sound silly but Jonah feels like it's lacking to me in some way, like the sound just trails off.
I like both of them a lot. I use Jonas in combos because it has the bonus of being my third great-grandfather's name.
Jonas sounds "stronger" and Jonah is "softer"-- both good, but different feel.
I don't associate Jonah with the whale story-- I did when I was a child when that was the only Jonah I'd heard of, but now it just feels like a normal name.

Out of curiosity, what other Jonahs do you know? If I had some other connection or association with the name, I think Jonah would strike me as more interesting and less of a one trick pony. I tend to avoid names with only one dominant, less than positive connection.Right now it seems like a whale of a name.

Jonah Hill is an actor. J. Jonah Jameson is Peter Parker's boss in the Spiderman series. Jonah Falcon is the owner of the world's largest penis (I worked for the text company kgbkgb_ about 10 years ago; this was the answer to one of our most common questions). But TBH I mainly associate it with small children-- it's in the top 200 and it fits with the other short, soft Biblical names that are popular-- Noah, Elijah, Ezra, Micah, Judah, Jonah.

I dislike Jonah as it feels too biblical and I can't for the life of me figure out the appeal of Jonas. I've always thought it's incredibly ugly.
