I want to like it because my paternal grandmother was named Agnes, but I just don't. I think the first syllable is terribly unattractive. I would be willing to consider it as a middle name to honor my grandmother.

BTW, my grandmother's parents wanted to name her Bridget (they were from Ireland) but the woman who was to be her godmother objected so strongly to Bridget that they relented and chose Agnes instead.
