Help[Facts] Hs. in front of a German name
I am doing a family research and have found reference from several different resources that show an "Hs" in front of the name. i.e. Hs. Johann Heinrich Straehle What does the Hs. mean? thank you. My email is dkmax@windstream.net

It may possibly be an abbreviation for Hans, the same way English records used Geo and Wm for George and William.
