Year 0 (2018) - Oslo, Norway
H: Magnus Even Karlsen [24, curly light brown hair, brown eyes, sound tech]
W: Andrea Maria (Caro Flores) Karlsen [23, curly black hair, brown eyes, accountant]
Magnus and Andrea are newly-weds living in Oslo, Norway. Magnus is a sound tech at a large theatre, and has lived in Oslo all his life. Andrea is an accountant from Spain, who’s lived in Norway since she was 13.
Year 1 (2019) - Oslo, Norway
Andrea quickly realised how much she hates accountancy - she decides to pursue a career in music, her lifelong passion. She releases a song, and starts playing at local events.
Year 2 (2020) - Oslo, Norway
Magnus and Andrea decide to adopt a pet. They choose a playful labrador puppy whom they name Nora.
Year 3 (2021) - Oslo, Norway
The Karlsens decide to host an exchange student for a year - Lucas is a 20-year-old biochemistry student from Brazilian, and they get along very well.
Year 4 (2022) - Oslo, Norway
Magnus’ hard work is recognised in the form of a pay rise!
Year 5 (2023) - Oslo, Norway
Although he only stayed for a year and has now returned to Brazil, Magnus and Andrea still keep in touch with Lucas. This year, they found out that he had a bit of a skirmish with the law - something to do with a rather rowdy night out on the town.
Year 6 (2024) - Oslo, Norway
Magnus and Andrea love having Nora so much, they decide to adopt a kitten as well. Mari is a small tabby cat.
Year 7 (2025) - Oslo, Norway

Magnus and Andrea welcome a son! Tomas has the same curly hair as both his parents, and they couldn’t be happier to be parents.
Year 8 (2026) - Oslo, Norway
Tomas gets very, very sick. He is in hospital for several months, and although he survives, in the end doctors have to amputate his right leg.
Year 9 (2027) - Oslo, Norway
Magnus gets a promotion, and he’s now in charge of the entire sound department! Andrea’s musical career is also progressing, although fairly slowly.
Year 10 (2028) - Oslo, Norway

Tomas is so excited to be a big brother! Magnus and Andrea have to persuade him to leave Stefan alone.

Andrea takes Tomas and Stefan to Spain to meet their grandparents!
Year 12 (2030) - Oslo, Norway
Andrea’s career is beginning to take off - she has a minor hit back home in Spain.
Year 13 (2031) - Toronto, Canada
Magnus and Andrea make a bit of a snap decision, and move the family to Toronto. They both speak decent English, and the boys know a bit, but they expect it to be a bit difficult.
Year 14 (2032) - Toronto, Canada

The Karlsens are very surprised when they find out they’re expecting again. However, they welcome Lena all the same, and decide their family is complete.

Andrea is involved in a legal case - an old artist says one of her songs rips off his. However, she wins the case.
Year 17 (2035) - Toronto, Canada
This year, Nora sadly passed away. However, she was very old and had lived a good life.
Year 18 (2036) - Toronto, Canada
Andrea’s mother also passes away - she’s pretty devastated by the loss, and spends 2 weeks with her family in Spain.
Year 20 (2038) - Toronto, Canada
The unfortunate run of deaths continues, and Mari the cat dies.
Year 22 (2040) - Barcelona, Spain
The Karlsens move to Barcelona, which is tough for everyone. They’ve come to be close to and take care of Andrea’s father, who’s very old. Magnus speaks very little Spanish, and the kids don’t know too much either, so they struggle at first, but it gets better.
Year 24 (2042) - Barcelona, Spain
The 6-year-old Lena takes up gymnastics, and finds out she’s pretty good at it!
Year 26 (2046) - Barcelona, Spain | Toronto, Canada (Tomas)
Isak breaks his leg during a football match.
Tomas moves back to Toronto, to study teaching - he’s dreamed of being a primary school teacher for years.
