[Opinions] Kylie Jenner BA
Kylie Jenner has revealed her baby name:Stormiwhich is kind of lame after what all the gossip sites have suggested. I don't hate it, but it feels pretty basic. http://people.com/babies/kylie-jenner-daughter-name-stormi-first-photo/--I read a article on Facebook suggesting that she'd named the baby Posie, and on reddit, another article suggested it was Butterfly, and some reddit users combined these for a guess of Mariposa "Posie", which I think would have been great as far as celeb baby names go. So, WDYT: Stormi, Posie, Butterfly, Mariposa?

I actually love Mariposa and would be delighted to see it as a name. Stormi is cute and trendy. I don't hate it. I would probably never have the guts to use it myself, but I would consider it as a nickname for Storm. I like it the same way that I "kind've like Dawni, but not really".
Note - I know nothing about the Jenners

None of these names, I like none of them at all. What a childish & giggly name, but still better than other weather conditions/- events, like Windi, Haili, Snowi, Raini, Fogi, Hazi, Drizzli, Hurricani, TyphooniIn the Kardashian/Jenner context I really like Nori much better & that's saying something!

I would have definitely preferred Mariposa. I'm wondering if she has a middle name or if Webster is the middle (dad's surname) with Jenner as the surname.

I don't like it. Mariposa nn Posie would have been amazing.

It just makes me think of Halle Berry's character Storm in the X-Men franchise. It's dull and uninspiring for a real person.

ETA: Middle name is Webster.I don't like it, but its better than Chicago and Butterfly. I would have preferred Mariposa.

*surnameHer boo is known by a stage name, but his legal surname is Webster

I see. I stand corrected.

I really dislike it! I guess I was expecting something like Posie or Mariposa so Stormi is a let down. Butterfly is a cute nickname but I dislike it as a full name. Posie & Mariposa are not my style but I think they are stylish options compared to Stormi.

Its not what I expected, but its nicer then Chicago. I wonder what name Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson will use.

I don't hate it, which was a surprise! I expected something really awful, like Kim's kids names! Stormy would have been nicer though, the i ending seems trashy to me.

It's okay. I don't have any strong opinions about the name, but I was very excited just to hear that she had one. I was a little too invested in this, lol.

Eh, it's fine. I have no complaints. I'd rather be Stormi than Chicago.I don't like Posie, and I really can't see a Kardashian using a name like that. It's too cutesy and old-fashioned. Butterfly? Maybe. Reminds me of Butterfly McQueen. Mariposa? I don't like the way it sounds as a name, and it doesn't seem up their alley, at all. Too name-nerdy.

I don’t think Stormi is bad at all in the broad scheme of things.

It's lame and feels like a pet's name, or a porn name, especially with the i. The only Stormy I ever knew was a very mean cat that once bit me for no reason.
But it's way better than Kim's kids' names ... which isn't saying a whole lot. Mariposa would be pretty, though kind of overblown, but Posie/Posey would be sickly.

Weird. I've known three people named Stormie, all women. Never known a pet with the name.

I've known one Storm, and he's a man who's probably mid-thirties.

I don’t hate it by any means, but I was hoping for Posie. That would have been adorable. I appreciate how this and Kim’s choices are pretty gender neutral.

Stormy is not gender-neutral to me, and especially not that spelling she chose. Storm, maybe, but not Stormy.

It’s an adjective, though, in a language where we don’t have gendered words.

'i' is definitely a very gendered ending for names, though, culturally if not grammatically

I wouldn’t say “very” but I don’t disagree. I just think Stormi, Chicago, Saint, and North are all pretty gender neutral, not absolutely, completely gender neutral (although they kind of are).

the last three ...Are "gender-neutral" in the same way table, laundry and sodium might be called gender-neutral: because they are not considered people's names by the vast majority of humans.

Stormi makes me think of Starmie.Mariposa is a guilty pleasure of mine.
