[Opinions] WDYTO... Kiernan?

Is it safe? LOL I normally don't like made up names, but this one doesn't seem so bad. I really like Kieran, but when my husband says it, it sounds like Karen. When he says the names "Jenny" and "Ginny" you can't hear a distinction. Don't worry we will still be going with Kieran, but was just curious on what you all thought of it. Is it acceptable? Kiernan's not a made-up name, and in fact Kate Mulgrew of Star Trek: Voyager bears it as a mn: her full name is Katherine Kiernan Mulgrew.But because Kiernan does sound so boyish, I prefer it for a boy.

It's not a huge favorite, but it's not bad either. I actually know a little boy named Kiernan. People usually mistake his name for Kieran at first, but then get used to his name pretty much. His brother is named Lagan (sounds like loggin' :b).

Kiernan isnt a made up name, its a surname and I think its also used as a first name sometimes, not exactly sure of the real meaning though as every site on looked on seemed to say something differenthttp://www.searchforancestors.com/surnames/origin/k/kiernan.php

I typically don't like surnames as first names either. I didn't think to look it up as a last name too. ;c) Thanks!
