I don't know if I have heard this name before, if I have then I probably thought the person said Desmond. All I can say is that I love it. I've always loved Edmund and Desmond, Esmond is very similar to both. They are so similar I am having a hard time deciding which I prefer - Edmund, Esmond, or Desmond. The meaning of Esmond is very lovely as well.
