[Opinions] Sable
What do you think about the name Sable for a girl (like the animal)?
With what names might you pair it?

Not sure I like it for a girl, but I do for a boy. I used to have an awesome combo with it back in the day... Thomas Sable? Or maybe it was Thomas Au Sable, which is a river with meaning to me, which is why I was playing around with it add a name.
You know, now that I think about it I can see Sable-the-animal-fur on a girl being sort of flapper-y. Something zippy like Sable Petra.

I think it's pretty but it's hard to picture on a white girl or woman.
Sable is a really cool name - although my first association with it is the notorious "baby groupie queen" of the 70s rock scene, Sable Starr (real name Sable Shields... her real name was cooler than her groupie name). Might not be the best association, depending.

Hi !!!!
It reminds me too much Seble an Ethiopic name I like.
If I were English-speaker I would much prefer Ermine. It is a lavish animal as well but its word is more similar to real names like Hermine or Herminio or Erminia or Herminius or even Hermann, Hermes or Hermione.

It has a cheap, prostitute-street-name or stripper-stage-name feel to it. Like she's hanging around with girls who call themselves Cherry Deluxe and Couture.
You might not actually be that far off...
So-called "baby groupie" queen Sable Starr really hung out with girls like Lori "Lightning" (Mattix), "Queenie," and "Bebe" Buell. Except in the case of Sable, that was really her first name (actual surname was Shields).

Don’t forget the pro wrestling personality.
and Peaches.
It sounds too much like a common noun to be a proper noun to me (reminds me of “stable,” where you put horses). A similar sounding name that I like better is Sibyl/Sybil.
I’m not very good with mn, so I’m not sure what you could put with Sable.
