I think using country names, continent names or other Place names should be used with a certain modesty if you don't have a connection to said place.
If we take me as an example: I am from the Nordics. For me it would be natural, if I would want to use these types of names, to either name my kids Dane, Denmark, Norvegia (Norge or Norway sounds horrible), Svea (Sverige and Sweden sounds ugh too), Finn, Suoma, Suomi, Scandinavia or simply, Nordic. Names like Sápmi or Greenland I would pesonally consider to be highly inappropriote due to my lack of native ancestry from these areas.
China would be a cute name for someone with roots from China, but tacky on me. Asia is a bit more general, so it would suit well on a larger group of People.
