I'm not a fan, despite knowing some wonderful adults and children with the name. The sounds of the syllables aren't appealing to me, it doesn't really have any good nicknames, it's increasingly becoming a female name (though I can't imagine why), and it reminds me a bit of the word "toilet".

One of my close friends with the name says people are always drawing it out like "Ellll-eeeeeee-uuuuuuuut" because of E.T., though that may be a generational thing that will go away. Anyway, he hates his name.
