1. I’d probably be pleasantly surprised, but I did immediately think of Nairobi. Not a bad thing, but I keep thinking place rather than human name (even though I know Niobe isn’t).
2. I’d say Ny-oh-Bee. It feels more natural and sounds more pleasant when I say it that way.
3. I didn’t actually think of Naomi until I saw it, but now you mention it, I can see some confusion possibly arising.
