[Opinions] Re: Niobe

1. What would you think if you met a girl or woman named Niobe? What's your general impression of it?
I love it, it has such a strong and cool vibe. It reminds me of the character played by Jada Pinkett Smith. Back when the Matrix trilogy was popular I probably wouldn't have felt comfortable using this name but that was so long ago that I would feel fine using this name now.
2. How would you instinctively pronounce it, if you just saw it written (ny-o-bee, nee-o-bee, or...)?
I would pronounce it nie-o-bee/ ny-o-bee because that was how it was pronounced in the Matrix movie trilogy but I doubt that is the Greek pronunciation. Greek names are almost always mispronounced by those who speak English.
3. Does it remind you of Naomi at all? If so, would you see that as a positive or a negative?
It reminds me a bit of Naomi, but it reminds me the most of the place name Nairobi. Personally I love the name Naomi and I like other Greek names that have a semi similar sound to Niobe like Phoebe etc... they have somewhere between a cool and a cute sound. I would love to meet a Niobe someday.
