[Opinions] Merlin
What do you think of Merlin? I've never really seen it as usable, but I've been seeing it around more and more and it's really been catching my interest each time.
Also, in the light of the recent Kingsman film, what do you think of Galahad?
If you absolutely had to, what middle/first name would you use with each?
Thanks!

Merlin: it feels elderly, partly because of Merle and Mervyn and Marlon and Martin, partly because of the long-white-beardiness of it. But it's usable, and I could get a different impression if I met a young, non-nerdy one.
Galahad: nah. And now I have the Joan Baez song stuck in my head.

I prefer Myrddin, or Emrys!
I was at school with a girl Merlin - randy blonde party animal on with whom I did not get - which always confuses me.
Galahad ... all that symbolism about male virginity and sacred chalices and whatnot! And to my non-medieval ears it sounds too close to Galadriel, giving it the same, and equally undeserved, gender-bender vibe as Merlin.

I dunno if I think it's usable or not, but it's absolutely a GP of mine. I like how it sounds and looks, and the associations I have with it.
I'd say I'm neutral about Galahad. I like it in theory, but maybe it's a bit too much for real life.
Merlin Alexander
Galahad Arthur (or August)

Merlin is definitely not usable, imo. Galahad, maybe. I would do Evander Galahad or Evander Merlin.
As far as Arthurian names go, I think Geraint, Percival, Gawain, Taliesin, Bedivere, Guinevere, Isolde, Igraine are also usable.

Hi !!!
I like both names !!!
They are literarian names from a great tradition and reflect positive values.
I prefer Merlin to Galahad because it is more famous and usable and because it has a natural meaning too (a type of falcon).
I would use Merlin as first name while Galahad as middle name.
Here there are some combos...

Merlin is not my style at all, but it is the name of Oscar Wilde's grandson so it's usable if you're adventurous. (Then again, Merlin's dad/Oscar's son was named Vyvyan.)
Merlin Evander
Merlin Asher
Merlin Benedict
Merlin Rowley
Merlin Felix
Dominic Merlin
Hugo Merlin
Enzo Merlin
Oscar Merlin -Oscar's on my mind, okay?
Fingal Merlin
Galahad and Merlin. You're getting very Arthurian today. I have always kind of quietly loved Bedivere, Lucan, and Dagonet. (I'm not kidding. Don't judge.)
Always kind of thought Galahad sounded like Galadriel's brother. Don't love it or hate it. Very neutral.
Galahad Asher
Galahad Elias
Galahad Micaiah
Galahad Leander -too mixed?
Galahad Blair
Caius Galahad
Simon Galahad
James Galahad
Nicholas Galahad

I know both a Merlin and a Galahad! They're brothers. :)
I love Merlin especially in light of the Kingsman movie, and would happily use it. I'd pair Merlin with something very classic: Merlin Alexander, Merlin John, Merlin Henry.Galahad can go a little odder with middles: Galahad Oak, Galahad Xander, Galahad Thomas is my favorite Galahad combo, though.
